Blue agave fields in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico

The Story

Three Generations. One Obsession.

RLG3 was not built in a boardroom. It was built in the fields, in the silence before dawn, and in the patience of men who understood that greatness cannot be rushed.

The Beginning

From the Highlands of Arandas to Your Glass.

Great tequila begins with a sense of place. For RLG3 Sips, that place is Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico — part of the celebrated Los Altos region, where tequila connects the land, the people, and the craft of transforming blue agave into something worth savoring.

Our story begins here, in the highlands of Jalisco, at the El Mexicano distillery and warehouse. Made with 100% blue Weber agave, RLG3 Sips celebrates the patience behind tequila and the artistry behind every bottle.

The journey from agave to glass takes years. Before tequila reaches a barrel, the agave must grow and mature. At harvest, workers known as jimadores remove the long, pointed leaves to reveal the heart of the plant — the piña. These hearts provide the foundation for the tequila-making process.

Cooking transforms the agave's stored carbohydrates into fermentable sugars. Those sugars are extracted, and yeast converts them into alcohol during fermentation. Distillation follows, concentrating the spirit and helping shape its character. Each stage contributes to the aromas and flavors that eventually reach your glass.

For RLG3 Sips, the journey continues in oak barrels at El Mexicano. Our reposado rests in wood before bottling, bringing together the character of blue agave and the influence of oak. It is a process that invites patience — and an experience that deserves the same.

A Dream Becomes Ándale Reserve

Founded by Robert L. Garrett III.

For Robert L. Garrett III, the dream was to create something personal — a tequila that brought together his appreciation for craftsmanship, art, and the moments people share over a good glass.

He envisioned a bottle that would catch your eye, a story that would make you curious, and a tequila that would invite you to slow down. Something he could put his name behind with pride.

From the beginning, Robert wanted to contribute to the tradition of pure tequila. His vision was clear: tequila with no additives or artificial flavors, allowing the character of the blue Weber agave and its time in oak to speak for themselves. He wanted what was inside the bottle to deserve just as much appreciation as the artwork on the outside.

That vision became Ándale Reserve.

The dream took shape in Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico, in the highlands of Los Altos. At the El Mexicano distillery and warehouse, the story moved from an idea to something tangible: tequila made with 100% blue Weber agave, rested in oak barrels, and prepared for a small, distinctive release.

Barrels #25BG78 and #25BG113 yielded 518 bottles of Ándale Reserve. For Robert, those bottles represent the satisfaction of seeing an idea become something he can hold, share, and introduce to the world.

The RLG3 name carries his initials and the III that is part of his identity. It gives this project a personal signature. The artwork and presentation extend that connection, bringing his vision into the experience before the first sip is poured.

Through RLG3 Sips, Robert invites others to discover Ándale Reserve in the spirit he imagined it: with curiosity, good company, and time to appreciate the details.

From a founder's imagination to oak barrels in Arandas, and finally to your glass — Ándale Reserve is a dream made real, one bottle at a time.

The Name

What RLG3 Means.

Every great spirit carries a name with weight behind it. RLG3 is not a marketing construct — it is an inheritance. The initials of a family. The number of a generation. A promise that what came before was worth continuing.

The third generation does not inherit the land. It inherits the standard.

What We Stand For

No Shortcuts. No Apologies.

Patience

Our agave rests for 7 to 10 years before harvest. Our Reposado rests in oak. We do not rush what time perfects.

Terroir

The red volcanic soil of Los Altos gives RLG3 its mineral backbone and natural sweetness. We do not mask it — we honor it.

Craft

Brick ovens. Copper pot stills. Open-air fermentation. Every step is deliberate, traditional, and uncompromising.

Restraint

No additives. No artificial flavors. No caramel coloring. What is in the bottle is only what the agave and the oak gave us.
